Matt brings over 22 years of litigation support experience to QDiscovery. Prior to founding QDiscovery, Matt began his career at a Regional Litigation Support Company and was instrumental in helping guide it to enormous success in becoming one of the top National Litigation Support firms prior to its sale. During his tenure there, Matt held various positions including Senior Project Manager, Director of Operations and finally as a Regional Sales Manager. He contributed much of his success in the sales arena to his strong roots in operations. Shortly after the sale of that company, Matt joined Daegis as an equity partner. After many years of continued success in sales, Matt was then instrumental in positioning Daegis in the merger with Unify, a publicly held company. Matt was consistently the top producer at Daegis and always maintained an active role in the operations side of the business. Matt has been an active member of EDRM and other local associations. While Matt is involved in every aspect of the organization from technology to project management, his most important focus is client relations.
Vice President of Technology
Don Elliott is the Vice President of Technology for QDiscovery LLC. Don oversees all the IT infrastructure and software platform operations. He also manages the workflow of the Production Operations team. Don serves on the management team helping direct technology strategies for the future. Prior to helping create Qdiscovery LLC, Don had worked in technology driven start-up companies in San Jose, Ca. He also served in the Navy in the Nuclear Engineering field, where he was an instructor and operator. Don brings 15+ years of experience in the Litigation Support business as well. His roles included project management, operations management, and providing best practices to fortune 500 companies.
Vice President Business Development
Jim comes to QDiscovery with over 16 years of experience in the Legal and Litigation Support Industry. Jim is responsible for leading the sales efforts and focusing on the strategic growth of the company. Jim is a results-driven executive with wide-ranging successes in leading litigation support teams, developing people, and inspiring change. Jim brings to QDiscovery experience developing and consulting with large Midwest clients and experience determining the best workflow solutions for their particular needs, including overseeing document review needs for Fortune 500 clients. Prior to joining QDiscovery, Jim was the Litigation Support Director at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Indianapolis Indiana, and Senior Project Manager at Daticon.
Director of Client Services
Donna Epes, Director of Client Services, brings both litigation vendor and law firm experience to the QDiscovery team. That combined experience gives her a great perspective in understanding not only the "back-end" technology that drives and expedites litigation matters of her customers, but also a firm understanding of what the customer truly needs. Her experience includes senior project management, database and process management and trial support. In her time at Day Pitney, Donna was certified as a Summation Certified Trainer and received her paralegal certification through the University of Connecticut. She was primary support lead on a number of high profile cases at Day Pitney and was routinely lauded as a key factor in many of the Day Pitney cases that were decided in their favor. Donna's education also includes degrees in Computer Science and Management Information Systems.
Brett has over 20 years’ experience working with attorneys and paralegals while assisting them in developing the best strategy to handle their matter-related documents. Brett has presented training courses at over 25 law firms ranging from litigation software to trial presentation software. Brett has extensive experience in assisting law firms and corporations with litigation matters, both small and large, from collection strategies through final trial presentation. Brett has previously spoken to the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Indiana Paralegal Association, and Indiana State Bar Association regarding the use of technology during the litigation and trial process.
Brett was the owner of Preferred Imaging for 14 years prior to their merger with QDiscovery. Brett has previous experience working for a national document management company, ImageMax, where he held multiple positions including Consulting Services Manager and then Director of Sales & Technology. Brett also worked at CMG Worldwide, Inc., the largest organization representing celebrity estates, as an Account Executive and then the Director of Information Technology.
Lela Laurent, CEDS
Lela has worked in the eDiscovery and litigation support area for over two decades as a paralegal, litigation support manager and solutions consultant. She is an expert in the management of large scale eDiscovery projects throughout the lifecycle, beginning with fact investigations through trial. Her specialty areas include: litigation preparedness and preservation; legal hold compliance; eDiscovery identification, collection, processing, review and production; custodian interviews and collection tracking, and vendor selection and management.
She pioneered implementation of best practice procedures related to litigation support, legal holds and eDiscovery processes at top tier Chicago law firms and a leading global online travel company. Lela is ACEDS certified and has worked in consulting roles for national eDiscovery vendors during her career.
Her obsession and passion for outstanding client service focuses on developing cost-cutting solutions. She brings her expertise and qualities to QDiscovery by assisting clients with eDiscovery challenges having also walked in their shoes.
Steve comes to QDiscovery with over 12 years of experience in litigation support and electronic discovery. During this time, Steve has worked with AMLAW 200 law firms and Fortune 500 corporate legal departments consulting on long term best practices and case specific projects. Steve’s expertise is in building and maintaining strong customer relationships where he consistently exceeds customer expectations. Steve has spent his career with Ricoh (legacy IKON) in varying roles with their sales organization. Beginning as a customer service rep and moving quickly into major account sales earning President’s Club four times. Steve’s success vaulted him into general management where he headed the Southern New England marketplace, responsible for both sales and operations.
Helen Geib, Esq.
General Counsel / Practice Support Consultant
Helen practiced law for seven years in the intellectual property litigation department of a leading Midwest law firm where her responsibilities included managing large scale discovery and motion practice. She brings that experience and perspective to her work as an E-Discovery consultant. Helen also provides trial consulting services in civil and criminal cases. An Indianapolis native, Helen earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Drew University in 1997 and graduated summa cum laude from Chicago’s John Marshall Law School in 2000. She is a member of the bar of the State of Indiana and the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and a registered patent attorney. She holds the TrialDirector Certified Trainer, AccessData Certified Examiner, and AccessData Mobile Examiner certifications.
Adam is very excited to join the team of experienced industry professionals at QDiscovery. Adam earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science and graduated with Cum Laude honors from the University of Connecticut in 2007. Adam also earned a Masters Degree in International Studies from Central Connecticut State University in 2010 and was one of the top students in his program, completing the two-year course of study in under a year and a half. Adam has previously held management positions at both a major tribal casino and at one of Southeastern Connecticut's most popular tourist destinations. Adam brings to QDiscovery ten years of customer service experience in addition to advanced interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills that he developed throughout his professional and academic career.
Katie has over 20 years of experience working in the litigation support industry. She brings to the QDiscovery team, her extensive knowledge of litigation, prior production management skills as well as 15+ years project management experience. Katie joined QDiscovery as part of the Preferred Imaging team where she was responsible for managing all aspects of production from the planning, scheduling and development of each project to implementing internal project workflows and guidelines. She enjoys working closely with clients and the customer service aspect that Project Management entails. Katie attended Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis prior to receiving an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from the University of Indianapolis.
Matthew “Mattie” Dietz, joined the QDiscovery team in February 2013 with 16 years of Litigation Support experience. Mattie’s experience was gained from years managing several large matters as a Senior Project Manager for a nationwide eDiscovery provider. Mattie also spent several years on the client side as the primary Litigation Support Specialist for Wiggin and Dana, LLP. Through valuable experience on both sides of the industry Mattie has become accustom to working on multiple high-profile cases at once and specializes in managing complex datasets with tight timelines. Mattie possesses a strong understanding of electronic discovery processing, database management, searching / search syntax, and review management capabilities. Mattie has experience in several processing and review platforms and within a short period of time has received his Viewpoint review and sales certifications. Mattie looks forward to providing solutions to sharing his knowledge and experience with QDiscovery clients.
Deb Tristan is the Operations Manager at QDiscovery. She has 18 years of experience in the litigation support industry. During Deb's career, she worked in many areas of operations. As Scanning Supervisor she traveled to multiple on-site scanning locations. She played a key role in re-strengthening the satellite offices where she managed the Computer Room and Printing Department working on one of the largest mergers, Exxon/Mobil. She then managed the startup at the satellite office in White Plains, NY. On her return to the corporate headquarters, she re-organized the Computer Room making sure clients’ needs were top priority and for her efforts was awarded Employee of the Year. Deb continued learning all aspects of operations and became Director of Operations.
